Overview
Johnstone's Trade StainAway is a water-based stain block paint designed to cover the most persistent stains. Suitable for interior application it can be used on walls and ceilings, both bare and previously painted, including plaster, plasterboard, concrete, ceiling tiles and wall coverings. Delivering high opacity, quick drying and recoat, StainAway will leave a scrubbable, smooth, long-lasting matt finish. The Stain Blocking Technology permanently isolates and covers even the most persistent stains, including smoke, nicotine and water. StainAway can also be used as a primer and finish in one when used on walls and ceilings, saving you time on the job.

Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease.
- Remove any loose or flaking material
- Rub down previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly
- Where water damage has occurred ensure the leak is fixed and the area is dry before painting
Application
Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results
- Stir thoroughly before use to ensure the paint is completely mixed
- Johnstone's Trade StainAway is easy to apply by brush or roller - Also suitable for application by spray
- Ensure good ventilation during application and drying
- Seal absorbent surfaces such as new plaster with a coat of Johnstone's Trade StainAway thinned up to 20% with clean water
- For best results in one coat, apply the paint generously and evenly in line with the spreading rate of up to 9 square metres per litre
- Avoid over spreading
- Some strong or contrasting stains may require a further coat
Always follow manufacturer's instructions found on the tin
Aftercare & Storage
Store the paint in dry conditions and protect from extremes of temperature.
After use firmly secure the lid and store in a secure upright position.
