Preparation
Preparation is essential to a good, smooth finish, so it's important to follow the intructions found on the tin.
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from grease, wax or polish, apply a strong detergent and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- Smooth surfaces should be lightly rubbed with a fine waterproof abrasive paper to provide a key for the paint.
- If you're covering a previously painted surface, first remove any flakes or blisters and rub down well with a fine waterproof abrasive paper.
Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding so that you don't inhale the dust.
Application
Apply only in temperatures above 10 degrees celcius and avoid applying in damp conditions. Always follow the instructions found on the manufacturer's tin.
- Stir well before use, a small roller is recommended for a smooth finish.
- When painting kitchen cupboards, sand with a fine paper once the first coat is dry, then wipe the dust off with a damp cloth, then apply the second coat.
- Sanding the surface ensures adhesion between the two layers of paint and gives a more professional finish.
It is not advisable to spray this product.
