Johnstones Hammered Effect Metal Paint is a hardwearing paint formulated with special additives that create a textured pattern when applied. It is commonly used on various metal surfaces, including furniture, metalwork, railings, and decorative objects. The hammered effect helps to hide imperfections on the surface and adds a visually interesting texture. Suitable for applying direct to rust on all metal surfaces with no need for a sperate primer.

Not suitable for galvanised iron, bare aluminium, or zinc sprayed surfaces.

Preparation

Ensure the surfaces to paint with Johnstones Metal Paint are fully prepared to ensure you get the best results from your paint.

• Firstly, ensure the surface is clean, dray and free from any contaminates that may effect adhesion.
• If necessary strip to a bare surface to ensure the best results.
• Rub down well with a fine waterproof abrasive paper and the rinse thoroughly.

Application

Always test a small area to ensure you are happy with the finished results, colours may vary on screen.

• Do not apply this paint in confined spaces or over large areas when indoors.
• Stir well before use, apply using a brush.
• Do not thin this product it is supplied ready to use.
• Load the brush generously with paint and apply liberally and evenly, do not overspread.
• This paint will be touch dry in 30 minutes and recoatable in 1 hour.
